More About Us.

Picture perfect New England-style dining & entertainment.

7 Central Public House, located in the picturesque seacoast village of Manchester-by-the-Sea, has served the public for the over 250 years as a Tavern, Stage Coach Stop, Post Office and. for the past 5 decades, as a place for food, spirits and meeting with friends.

This historic tavern, that can be deceiving from the street view, can accommodate over 200 customers inside its historic walls. The English-styled pub with beam & post construction and a working fireplace is a gathering spot for people from all walks of life – fishermen to financiers alike.  Every town has its own version of “Cheers,” and in Manchester, it’s 7 Central.

Our Pub with its classic Irish bar, serves 18 drafts on tap serves daily from 11:45am to midnight. Our is the only place in Manchester that presents Live Music, DJ’s and theme nights likes Wednesday night trivia, and BINGO Tuesdays.

With windows overlooking Manchester’s beautiful town common, our private  “corner room” can be reserved for dinners, parties and meetings.  This intimate space is ideal for groups from 8 to 18 who would prefer a more intimate setting over our much larger upstairs function room.

Our main dining room with the second of three working fireplaces, has cozy booths and copper topped tables, a 12-seat bar adjacent to a wall of windows overlooking the Saw Mill Brook. This room is bright and airy – a characteristic you might not expect to find in a historic building of this nature.

7 Central Public House features Manchester’s only outdoor deck with a water view of the tidal Saw Mill Brook. A lush green space that is a stop over for many migrating birds and water fowl. It is not uncommon to see Great Blue and White Herons, Egrets, Hummingbirds, Red-Tailed Hawks and, on more than one occasion, Bald Eagles. This peaceful oasis is 7 Central’s hidden jewel and features two retractable awnings, romantic strand, edison lighting and electric heat for days and nights when the New England weather brings a chill. This 36-seat space can be reserved for private events and parties. The deck serves daily in the warmer months from 11:45am until midnight.

7 Central Public House is the only restaurant in town that has a separate function space which can be reserved for any type of private event – rehearsal dinners, brunches, birthdays, showers, family recitals, business meetings or whatever your needs are.

The 7Up room, as we call it, has a working fireplace, 20-foot high, vaulted ceilings with skylights and palladium windows over-looking the Saw Mill Brook. There is no rental fee for this space and we allow our guests to decorate, personalize and even utilize the room’s Fishman sound system to play music of their choice.

This room can accommodate as many as 60 for a sit down dinner or buffet and 80 for a cocktail party or more causal event, and our chef is always willing to work with you to create a special menu tailored to your tastes.
